The German subsidiary of the Russian oil company Rosneft, which is currently under trusteeship, has been temporarily exempted from the new US sanctions imposed on the Russian oil sector. The US Treasury Department published a regulation on Wednesday allowing business to be conducted with Rosneft Deutschland and RN Refining & Marketing until the end of April 2026. Companies that are at least half-owned by these companies are also temporarily exempt from the sanctions. Paramilitary forces in Sudan have allegedly killed 460 people at a maternity hospital in the city of el-Fasher, the director general of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has said.
