Former Borussia Dortmund coach Nuri Sahin is to take over at Turkish Süperlig side Basaksehir, according to media reports. The Sözcü newspaper and broadcaster A Spor said on Friday that Sahin and the club have reached an agreement and that the official announcement will be made on Monday. Sahin took a first coaching job at his former club Dortmund in July 2024 but was dismissed in January after a series of bad results. Basaksehir said earlier this week that the contract with coach Cagdas Atan was terminated by mutual agreement. The reason was unclear.

The German Football Federation (DFB) has launched a "Year of Schools" initiative to make children and youths more active in sports.
