Belarusian opposition activist Svetlana Tikhanovskaya welcomed the release of 52 political prisoners, but has also sounded a note of caution. "Let's be honest: what happened yesterday was not real freedom. It was a forced deportation," she said at a press conference in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius, according to Lithuanian media reports on Friday. Fifty people were killed in Israeli attacks on targets in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical sources said on Friday, with many of the deaths in Gaza City.
