造園日和 梅雨入りですね。
ueno環境緑地科 造園部門の『今』をお届けします。新しい樹木の芽『新梢』も充実し、梅雨時期で湿度も高くなってきたので挿し木には良い時季になってきました。
・2年生の実習では１年生に続き挿し木を行いました。インターンシップでお世話になった盆栽園から学校には無い品種のサツキツツジの挿し穂をいただけたので長さ等を調整し挿し木を行いました。手際よく成長の良い芽を切り分け約300本挿すことができました。
・３年生の造園技能検定受験では庭を施工する実技試験に加え、樹木を正しく判別する要素試験もあります。出題範囲で校内にある樹木を揃え勉強中！『針葉、広葉？常緑、落葉？葉は対生、互生？全縁、鋸歯？』呪文じゃないよ！
・サツキツツジは花期のピークを過ぎ『花後剪定』を始めました。伸びすぎる枝を剪定し、樹形の維持と夏の花芽形成（来年咲く花の芽）を促します。
